Hi, I am Yogesh Joshi from Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), Nainital, India. I have joined ARIES as a faculty member in April, 2009. My principal research interests lie in the areas of optical astronomy involving time domain analysis in astrophysics. Presently I am working on the study of variable stars, particularly Cepheid variables. I had been involved in the search of microlensing events towards M31 galaxy in the project 'Nainital Microlensing Survey' and extrasolar planets in the SuperWASP project. These surveys are being carried out using small telescopes at Nainital, India and La Palma, Spain. Under the microlensing survey, we had also been involved in the detection of Cepheid variables in the disk of M31 and detected many new Cepheids during our four year long observing run.
