List of SPC Awardees for URSI-RCRS(2024)
Student Paper Competition (SPC)
The Student Paper Competition (SPC) of the 2024 URSI Regional Conference on Radio Science (URSI-RCRS 2024) is open for applications. Full-time university students from India or any other country, who is the principal (first-named) author and the presenter of a paper (oral or poster) at a regular session of URSI-RCRS 2024, are eligible for application in the SPC.
Applications should be completed electronically on the URSI-RCRS 2024 conference website by 9 July 2024 (Tuesday). Each SPC applicant must submit the following documents in PDF format, through the Paper submission webpage:
- Extended abstract (1 page) or Summary paper (4 pages) in IEEE Format
- Full-length paper (10 pages) IEEE paper style: The instructions given on the conference website must be followed for preparing this.
- Full CV
- Complete List of Publications separately mentioning Journals & Conference Proceedings
- Letter of Certification from his/her advisor(s): This should be printed on the university letterhead and signed by the applicant’s advisor, clearly stating that the applicant is a full-time university student for a degree at the time of application. For a paper with multiple authors, the letter should emphasize that the role of all authors other than the applicant was primarily advisory in nature.
The URSI-RCRS 2024 Young Scientist and Student Program (YSSP) Committee will peer-review the SPC applications. Five finalists will be selected at the end of the review process. The YSSP Committee will email all the SPC applicants on 20 August 2024, notifying them about the review results. Within three days of notification, each SPC finalist must confirm that he/she will attend URSI-RCRS 2024. By 1 September 2024, the list of the SPC finalists will be announced on the URSI-RCRS 2024 website. The SPC finalists will receive:
- Free conference registration
- Free accommodation covering the entire conference duration
Please note that basic accommodation will be provided by the URSI-RCRS 2024 organizers. In case the SPC finalists arrange for alternative accommodation, they must bear the entire expenses on their own with a reimbursement of up to Rs 5000 for the entire duration.
The
SPC Special Session, open to all URSI-RCRS 2024 participants, will be scheduled on 22 October, 2024. All the selected SPC finalists should be present during the SPC special Session and
- Present their papers orally
- They must also present their papers later in regular sessions (oral or poster) during the conference
Members of the URSI-RCRS 2024 YSSP Committee will judge the presentations by the SPC finalists and select the three winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes), who will receive:
- 1st prize: Certificate and INR 10000
- 2nd prize: Certificate and INR 7500
- 3rd prize: Certificate and INR 5000
The non-winning finalists will each receive an “Honorable Mention” certificate identifying him/her as a finalist.
The SPC finalists will be required to attend the official Conference Banquet, where the awards and certificates will be presented.
