Engineering Research
ARIES' engineering division meets the design, development, maintenance and upgrade needs of equipment and support facilities and also supports the maintenance of ARIES' infrastructure does. To manage engineering activities efficiently and optimally, engineering resources such as equipment, machinery, expertise and skill sets are available under the division as a common resource pool. A lot of effort is required to develop, maintain and upgrade the complex elements of the equipment like telescope, backend equipment, radar facility etc. This requires special skills not only from the four engineering sections in ARIES (Optics, Mechanical, Optics). , mechanical Engineering). Electronics and Computer Section), but more importantly interdisciplinary skills and an integrated approach. By utilizing a shared pool of engineering expertise, well-equipped laboratories, simulation setups and sophisticated measurement equipment, ARIES effectively meets these requirements and also participates in more advanced national and international networked projects. Presently, ARIES is equipped with design, development, simulation, debugging and verification tools for complex engineering activities related to advanced control systems, embedded systems, PLCs, drives, motion controllers and automation, electrical and electronic CAD, DSP, signal processing. Specialization. RF, mechanical CAD, CNC machining, CMM verification, precision optical design and verification, HMI, automation, IoT, software development, parallel computing etc. These resources can be used by Engineering Intern, B Tech. Efforts are underway to share them across national institutions and organizations through M.Tech and PhD students and initiatives of the Government of India such as i-STEM.
