Big news from the 3.6-m telescope!
We’ve just completed a massive milestone —carefully unmounting the primary mirror (M1), giving it a deep clean, and coating it with a fresh layer of aluminium using advanced ion beam sputtering technology. This precision process wasn’t easy, but the results are spectacular — the mirror’s reflectivity is now better than ever! M1 is back on the telescope, gleaming and ready for action. Stay tuned… some exciting science is on the way!
