Applications are invited from eligible and motivated candidates for a Walk-in Interview for engagement as Technical Assistant on a temporary/contract basis at ARIES, Nainital. The details of the position, scope of work, and interview schedule are given below:

1. Educational Qualifications & Experience

· Essential Qualification: Three years Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Institute / Board / University.

· Desirable Experience & Skills: The candidate should have 3 years of working experience in the relevant area of their diploma. Working knowledge of electronics circuitry, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Python software is highly desirable.

2. Scope of Work / Job Responsibilities

2.1  Testing the automation of dome and slit using PLC.

2.2  Testing the synchronization of dome and telescope with modified software.

2.3  Replacement of existing control signal wire with optical fiber cable.

2.4  Identification and replacement of old relays, circuit components, and redundant items at the ground floor and telescope floor.

2.5  Wire tracing work for the telescope and dome systems.

2.6  Replacement of old tracking system with new tracking assembly/drives.

2.7  Bus bar extension at the periphery of the dome to facilitate the slit opening in wide range.

2.8  Manintenance and operation of 104 cm Telescope.

2.9 Night duty operations and assistance at the 104 cm Sampurnanand Telescope.

3. Service Conditions for Scientific and Technical Project Manpower

• Dearness Allowance (DA) & City Compensatory Allowance (CCA):Personnel in scientific and technical roles are not eligible to receive DA or CCA.
• House Rent Allowance (HRA):
  • Rates and eligibility follow Central Government regulations relevant to the ARIES rules.
• Medical Facilities: Coverage aligns with the standard medical benefits provided by ARIES.
• Leave & Travel Entitlements:
  • General leave policies adhere to the ARIES operational rules.
  • Official travel expenses follow the ARIES internal regulations.
• Additional Benefits: Personnel under these project roles are excluded from receiving gratuity, performance bonuses, or Leave Travel Concession (LTC).

4. Important Instructions for Candidates

· Reporting & Registration: Candidates are required to report at ARIES, Manora Peak, Nainital on 21-10-2026 between 09:30 AM and 10:00 AM for document verification. Walk-in interviews will commence at 10:00 AM.

· Documents to Bring: Candidates must bring a duly signed updated Bio-data (Curriculum Vitae), original certificates/mark sheets of educational qualifications, experience certificates, proof of date of birth, and identity proof along with one self-attested photocopy set and recent passport-size photographs.

· Nature of Engagement: The position is purely contractual and temporary in nature, initially for a specific period, and does not confer any right to regular appointment in the Institute.

· TA/DA: No TA/DA will be admissible to candidates attending the Walk-in Interview.
