I am Yogesh Chandra Joshi, scientist at Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), Nainital, India. I have been working at ARIES since 1997, first as a Research Scholar, then as a Research Associate and now as a Scientist. I completed my PhD in the field of gravitational microlensing while I carried out research on Galactic archaeology and extrasolar planets as a PDF. I have been a permanent faculty at ARIES, Nainital since 2009 and currently hold a position of Scientist 'F' (Professor). I have published 94 peer-reviewed papers including 26 as a lead author and 26 contributed communications at national/international conferences.
I specialize in optical astronomy, with a keen focus on time domain analysis, specifically examining star clusters, extrasolar planets, and variable stars. Additionally, I am deeply intrigued by the realms of galactic archaeology and the mechanisms behind star formation within the Local Group of galaxies. For further insights into my research endeavors, you can explore the details on my work at https://www.aries.res.in/yogesh.
